Sue Bates - Sculpture Artist

Seeing as I can't submit to wotm, I'll post here instead

This is a website I did for a very talented local artist/sculptor + friend of the family called Sue Bates. Used the clever sliding tabs and smoothbox javascript plug-ins for the mootools library for the gallery. Only downside is if you use the scroller on the mouse at the same as the sliding it seems to pause it mid-slide

Blog still requires a little bit of development, but apart from that, constructive criticism as always welcomed.

I hate you, you know that! I'm so jealous, the site looks awesome, love it all, so well done. Need to stop you entering to give anyone else a hope of winning!

I didn't find anything on the site to particularly dislike so I will tell you what I liked:
The border on the left side is really cute, please don't throw it away.
I like the calm colour scheme. It gives more focus to the pictures.
The pictures are a bit confusing: sometimes there are 2 photos of the same item, is there a way to group them according to item?

Some general feedback:
The logo needs to be clickable to the homepage (usability)
I would expect the "wall" to extend on the about me page pushing the "floor" down slightly, so that all the writing was on the wall
I think you can include a short title on the lightbox gallery for the individual pieces, which would be useful for us non-arty types
All your butterflies seem to be flying south... ( I know really picky, but I have to delve deep to find things that are wrong )

Apart from that, it's a great site, works well for the medium.

I have to admit this is a great site, you have done a fantastic job. But I have to agree with Stew's comment about the wall should be extended on the 'about' page to carry on with the affect of it on the wall.

Other than that its great, well done.

The gallery is awesome.

1 little error i noticed though was that when on the blog page it half covers the gallery options - stone & glass
