We have the cheapest web design services out there, if you find a cheaper price, we will beat it by 10%. Our success is derived from thinking like the people using our services, you want it cheap...
Rather unprofessional statement and, frankly, you're opening a whole can of worms for yourself and professional designers.

The colour scheme is too 'rich' for my tastes and lacks finesse.

The pricing structure I initially thought amusing but, having thought on it, it's probably about right for what's on display.

Re: Apex Web Development

Why in the name of all that is holy are you using frames!!?? Have I woke up in 1996?

They are out-dated by some years and for good reason;
  • They totally mess up SEO.
  • They mean you need at least 2 seperate HTML pages to display one.
  • They look naff!
I really have nothing good to say about this site or the one in your portfolio. You need to take some lessons in modern (X)HTML and get out of the time warp you appear to be stuck in.

I want to see your next offering but if it uses frames I'll go mad!

Frames make it very difficult to bookmark a page also. Frames have their uses, but mainly for intranet applications or places where SE's dont wander.

Re: Apex Web Development

Thanks for the comments. The reason that I did not use XHTML, is because I have only completed Web Design 1 at my school. (By the way, I am 14). I am only certified as an "Information Technology Assistant". If you have any good sites that I can learn XHTML from, PLEASE PM ME! I need to learn it fast becasue I have 3 Clients right now that I am designing usuing "out-dated" `codes with.
Thanks Again for all of your help,
Robert Rawls

What was amusing about it? Too cheap or too high?

Re: Apex Web Development

I was in this situation a few years ago, before you can start offering web design services you realy need to learn alot more about web design in my opinion. Your pricelist needs reviewing, you need to remove the frames and learn css, or at least get rid of the borders. I suggest you scrap the site learn xhtml and start all over again after having some more expierince

At this point I'd like to re-assure apex that people on this forum are here to help. We may seem a little harsh some times but rest assured, we're being cruel to be kind.

I for one won't ever rag on somebody for PMing me for help. I think the same can be said for many members on here.

Re: Apex Web Development

Am I missing something about today's society?

When I was 14, 15, 17... I had WAAAAY more better things to do then start a business. Don't you have something better to do then spend 40 hours a week designing crappy websites? If you had shown us something remotely decent, I would say continue on, but you show us that, COME ON!!!!

Call me an unsupportive jerk, but I'm tired of seeing these kids waste thier childhood. There will plenty of time to grow up after highschool. Play around with your web designing and have fun with it, but stop trying to start a business based on knowledge learned in 8th grade for piss sakes.

Any company who would hire a 14 year old to do their website, just to save money, is pretty low and taking advantage. And you say you have 3 already? Sad Sad Sad! And now you have no clue what your doing and expect everyone on here to educate you through the entire process?

Help here and there is one thing, but sounds like somebody is going to have to do it all for you. Why should you get paid for their work? What am I missing here?
