I take that back!
Now that we're all on good terms, I'll be glad to help if I can.

Just to build on minute44's comments, I'd personally recommend:
Ditch Dreamweaver's design view NOW.

You'll end up getting very bad habits that will hold you back later on in your career. You're miles ahead of everyone else if you code everything 'by hand'.

Which editor you use is totally up to you. I've experimented with many but I'm very picky about keyboard behaviour, short cut keys, colour coding, etc... You'll have to find one that suits you.

Interestingly enough, I use Dreamweaver - the coding view only.
I chose Dreamweaver just because it has a very handy "find & replace" feature and the also very handy "site explorer". None of the other editor's I tried were quite as good.

Agreed.

DW code view is very helpful as it closes tags for you and basically makes structuring your code loads easier cos it colour codes everything.

Windows: use TopStyle Pro
Mac: use skEdit or of course BBEdit.

Those are my picks.

Re: Check out my website and drop feed

Well ill try n learn some new web design skills when im not watching the world cup.

A company emailed me last night about web design, i have no confidence in doing this anymore cos the next site i do is gonna be along the same lines as this.

What do you guys think is a good rate to charge per hour for web design. It seems the standard rate just now is about £65 per hour. In the past i have just given people a figure for the whole project, however people just take advantage when you do this so i am know going to charge an hourly rate of £20- How do you think that sounds?

If you charge too cheap it just degrades your service.

You see the problem with hourly rates are you gotta deffs know what your doing, and you gotta work quick. However I would still only charge £25 an hour if i was you. Depends what they are asking for.. if you dont want to do it im pretty sure theres 1,000,001 ppl here that would gladly take the work hahaha!

Just do the site as you would have done before but try and remember the things you were taught, however you could make a "template" site with using css etc only and see how it ends up.. my first "sample" site is avaliable if you want it as something to kinda work off?
