1 page site

Here's a site I did for my brother's plumbing company.

There is currently only 1 page (well 2 if you include the enquiry form).

The plan is to make it a bigger site in the future by putting on a services page, an image gallery of work, faq, etc.

But for now I wanted something up there because he has the web address on his business cards and I don't have time to do the full site.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Re: 1 page site

Looks great but I think the information is a bit lacking. The information about your company is great, it really conveys professionalism, but if I'm looking for a plumber online I want name / number / cost / time / where. I'm thinking: can you come to me? when? how much will it cost? I don't think your page answers those questions very well...

The second problem is SEO, but we'll leave that until you have time to expand your website. The question is, what's your website worth if nobody visits it?

Re: 1 page site

Alter the defauly links to better match the colour scheme of the site (which looks nice btw )

The enquiry form should not resize my browser

The header should preferably be text (better for SEO) but atleast you filled in the alt tag... which i've noticed a vast majority ignore...

Why not create the headers (both logo and in the content) as text as apposed to images? this is easier in the long run... and far better.

Re: 1 page site

Great advice spinal007 I will definitely get that info in the copy in the next few days.

Bocaj, good advice again, I will be putting the enquiry form in a lightbox hack, I just didi it that way as a temporary measure.

Re: 1 page site

Nice, simple site.

A few changes I would make, change your headings etc to text i.e "welcome..." also your site name / logo could also be text, as well as the "emergency..." text in the top right.

I would draw more attention to the emergency contact number.

I agree with Spinal, there is some key information that is missing
- call out charge (if £0 - then that is a huge selling point)
- area covered
- etc

Finally, I would not put "I can probably fix it". The word "probably" does not instill confidence and may turn customers away.

Cheers for your input Welshstew, appreciated.

Just to let some you know I changed the enquiry form to a lighbox effect rather than opening a new window and resizing it.

Just so you know, some people (like me) hate popups. I use firefox and I actually got your contact form on a new tab (not a resized window). So always, stay away from unnecessary popups, to be safe.

It's much better now though - just style it a bit and you'll have youreself a very neat pretty looking form
