4 hour Website

Ok so this is what I did at work today.

You mite think that that quite good for only four hours, but I kind of cheat and used a boilerplate template I made that I use for a few different site one being http://www.bee-dryroofingservices.co.uk. Its quite a good way of producing site's if you on a deadline cause all I need to do is get the graphics done and sliced and the coding is pretty much all done ie layout, nav, image gallery etc.

Anyway what do you think do you like the look?

Re: 4 hour Website

mr. critique here and i have to say not bad at all.

few pointers top nav doesnt look connected to the site - try shrinking the size of the image and include it in that area...? just a thought.

Also the footer seams seperated to... or is it just me?!

another comment the header area is massive- you have to scroll to get the important bit - and the image at the top doesnt change so u dont really get a feeling of moving around... maybe the main image should be smaller on other pages?

Re: 4 hour Website

nice site,

From a usability I would ask why you have placed modern cars in the top nav but not classical?

Also on the home page you have a rounded box (rotating) and a square. these really don't look good together and you should choose one or the other.

Your code is ok, but the use of
Code: Select all
<p>&nbsp;</p>
to create layout space isn't very good. this spacing should be defined in your css.

Finally, you only have two errors - why not fix them?

·Design - 3/5
·Code - 2/5
·Functionality -3/5
SEO (onsite) - 2/5

Re: 4 hour Website

Code: Select all
<div class="logo"><a href="index.html"><span class="hide"><h1>A.Lamonts Wedding Cars</h1></span></a></div>
H1 tags should encase both the <a> and <span> tags.. so...

Code: Select all
<div class="logo"><h1>
<a href="index.html"><span class="hide">A.Lamonts Wedding Cars</span></a><h1></div>
Also....

Code: Select all
<div id="clearThis"></div>
Has been called twice..
