Can you give me some creative criticism on my sketch up for Other Road Designs?

I think it's very bright! haha. It's a little hard to visualize with all the blah blah blahs. I attached a text file with some Lorem Ipsum if you want to use that. I like the font and colors. The rounded sidebar doesn't really go well for some reason. Maybe too round or maybe it's just because I can't see the top header extend to the edges, I'm not sure. I think it could use some gradients instead of just solid colors, but that's just me. Oh and the text that says sidebar should have the same style as the header I think.

i'm not a big fan of the sidebar either, I'll try to get it switched around. I'll take your suggestion for the lorem ipsum. Do you really think the content font goes well with the page? I just used the default font.

the writing is Way too big, and you need to get some depth into the colour - choose tones slightly lighter/darker than the ones youve chosen, its better for the eyes, maybe a gradient?

nice concept though.

but do you like the colors? Because a website needs a color scheme before any thing else, so I don't want to start an entirely new design with bad colors.

Your colours are OK. Its quite a personal preference is colour. If you like them then go for it. I always find colour to be a very tricky thing to get right.

If you fancy a change of colours http://www.colourlovers.com/ is always helpful.

I usually brainstorm/write down what the business is about and some keywords relating to 'the message' your website is trying to say about you. It's then possible to visualise colours from these keywords that will reflect your business.
