Site About Dogs
Please, review my site http://dogbreeds.ucoz.com
There is not much information yet, but I'll be very grateful for any suggestions and opinions about the design and content. Many thanks. |

Re: Site About Dogs
Looks clean.
I assume the extension of buttons and icons to the left is deliberate. On Opera there is a small quirk when loading - but it corrects itself. |

I like your site, it is very modern and I like the colour scheme, very easy on the eye and the font is easy to understand

Re: Site About Dogs
I dont really like the green menu that runs through the middle of the page.
Menus should be at the top or on the left. Thats where people expect them. Moving around web elements to unfamiliar places is like changing the locating of the gear shift or clutch in a car. There is a convention to be followed. |

Re: Site About Dogs
also dont worry about the green sub navigation - i think it works well and is located where i would expect it.
Honda moved the gear stick to the dash on the civic - people still bought it.

Didn't consider your remark to be negative, just answered your question

Re: Site About Dogs
definitely like it!
A few things though: The CSS isn't valid, i think the nav could be moved to the right a little bit, the nav should also be display:block so if you move anywhere over the button it highlights the text, and the "Dog Breeds" should be a more interesting font.

Re: Site About Dogs
I think it looks fine. My only suggestion is that the "Catalogue Categories" section would be better at the top of the list of breeds. Here's why: Having been to the frontpage, and realizing that the stuff on the left is no use for me, I clicked on Breeds. From that point on I assume the stuff on the left is not going to change from page to page (as it happens on many websites) and I ignore it altogether. It took me a couple of clicks to realize it had changed. I think it needs to stand out more. Use a different background or something. Get my attention so I know it's there.
Also, how come you don't have the German Shepherd in your list? LOL

Re: Site About Dogs
Thanks, I really appreciate your input!
As for the German Shepherd - the information is not complete, far not all breeds are listed yet. |

Re: Site About Dogs
Sure, it's not a problem, I understand.... It's just that I don't know much about dogs and the german Shepherd is the first breed I could think of (the only one actually, LOL)
