puppettelevision.com/

www.puppettelevision.com - The site went up around may 16th our web designer put it up for us. The thing is we don't know how to update it with news and new reviews and i'm not willing to risk dabbling around and then messing up something so i'm in search for someone who can just put stuff up for us in the Toronto Area.

But this isn't about that i'd love to hear what people think of the site.

thank you all for your time

Re: Please Critique My website, Puppet Television

Why in the name of all that is holy can't people see the benefit of naming styles, divs and other elements logically!?!?!?!

Not good.
  • .style1, .style2 etc...
  • #layer1, #layer2 etc...
Good.
  • .menuitem, .headertext etc...
  • #header, #navigation
Because of this I am already prejudiced against this site....

On the whole though, I think you're on the right track here. There are some things I think you need to look at though.
  1. Center your content
  2. Add a "home" link to your navigation.
  3. Try and smooth over the edges of your TV hand logo thing...
  4. Keep your styles in a separate file. It keeps your markup skinny and enables pages to load quicker.
  5. Maybe make the content area a bit wider. I'm running 1280x1024 and it looks a bit silly that narrow.
Sort out these things and I think you're golden...

Thank you, onlinegamesplayer! I've never heard of, Democracy Tv but i'll definitely check it out after this post.

Minute44, I was waiting for your response because before i joined i like your style of pros and cons and it's super helpful. I'm going to take that advice 1-5 to get the site looking nice and crisp!

I believe that's Dreamweaver's default CSS naming scheme when making styles in Design View.

Yuck.
