My new site's purpose is to be able to quickly create a poll. You'll get a link which you can then email to the people you want to participate or post it in a forum.

As an example, here is a poll to give feedback about the site:
http://apollopoll.com/poll.html?FWT21PNI

So of course I'm happy about every kind of feedback (usability, layout, browser compatibility, load time).

Technology is actually not on the list, it's dojo (js) in combination with project zero (http://www.projectzero.org)

Thanks already!

cheers
Ben

Re: Apollopoll.com

DOCTYPE!!!!, where is it? check out this link on why you need one
http://www.w3.org/QA/Tips/Doctype

Your site looks alright, you should try and do something with the huge white space to the left, maybe try centering it?

http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos...apollopoll.com
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/v...apollopoll.com

Try and get these errors fixed when you have chosen a new doctype, i recommend a strict doctype, promotes better coding

Hope this helps

Craig

Re: Apollopoll.com

thanks for the hint, as you probaby have realized I did not bother about doctype at all...

The whitespace you are talking about is on the right, correct?

I left this because if you have a poll with lots of choices <link will follow>, the site needs all the space available, and I don't like sites that jump around from page to page.

Re: Apollopoll.com

I get you, i see why it's needed on the poll pages. Could you not do something on the home page?

A doctype is essential, really need to include one

Another comment, don't use arial, its alright for writing essay, but on your site looks a bit plain, here are a couple of links for choosing a font

Hope this helps you

Re: Apollopoll.com

Very clean. Very fast. Nice setup of the poll displays. Ability to email to friends or post on a blog or community site is great. The only thing that caught my eye was the ?logo? font which at first glance did not immediately say ApolloPoll but rather a series of loops with no purpose. Though I dont think that minor imperfection would scare away very many potential visitors to the site, so overall I think you did a wonderful job.

Re: Apollopoll.com

thanks for the hint, I don't often test it with locale set to dutch... but I have someone who can (and probably will) eventually transtlate it.

Some pages are not actually translated, so probably after visiting them you end up with german again on the other sites.

What I find strange is that you get the German one by default. I just tested it with local nl and it displayed in English (which is in default resource bundle).

Edith's here again: fixed the problem, thanks for pointing this out! English is now default for all, it can still happen that if you choose a language different from the default, it switches back after visiting certain pages.
