Re: Assembly Angels
Just a thought:
Can you put a pic or two of the furnitures the lady is selling. That would instantly catch attention of the visitor and make him say 'Thats what I want!', so you can be sure that he is going to navigate the site for more information.

Re: Assembly Angels
The contact page is same as homepage.
though I noticed that contact information is given in footer of every page, I think evey visitor would expect it in contact page. What of the visitor ignores the footer?

Re: Assembly Angels
The site is in early development so not all pages are there. When the contact page is copmplete it will be different and will have more comprehensive contact details.

Re: Assembly Angels
Can you create a gallery of her showing assembling the furnitures?

Re: Assembly Angels
it's a possibility. I think it will kind of ruin the site's simplicity though.

Re: Assembly Angels
if I put on a photo I certainly wouldn't use .gif but I'll take that suggestion on board.
Cheers

Re: Assembly Angels
Love it ... I think however the menu could be a tad bigger.
A pic *would* be nice but I have to agree with Dan ... I think it would ruin the flow of that main page. Maybe you could arrange and spot on the other pages for a little pic? |

Re: Assembly Angels
Simple, attractive, and valid (strict) code. Great job!
I would reduce the width slightly, so that all the content is visible at 800*600 without scrolling sideways. This is especially important for the navbar. I'd also make the navbar a bit bigger. |

Re: Assembly Angels
Wow, 800px width logo! It will be full screen for people that uses 800 by 600 resolution.

Re: Assembly Angels
800 x 600? Psht, like anyone uses that anymore.
Most people leave their monitor on the default setting and that setting is 1024 x 728 or 1024 x 800 now so 800 x 600 designs are not a requirement anymore IMO. The site looks nice and simple, but I would suggest a showing of the persons work. maybe an animated gif slide show showing a piece of furniture in pieces and someone with an exasperated expression on his face, then showing the finished project with her with a hammer in hand and him thanking her. Just an idea.

Re: Assembly Angels
Even in my old pc (1024x800), the logo takes up my entire screen!

Re: Assembly Angels
OneStat.com lists 8.18% of users with a display resolution of 800*600.
Although this percentage is declining, I don't think it's yet small enough to discount offhand. Note also that many users do not like the browser window to fill the entire screen! |

Re: Assembly Angels
Ah, yes the age old grumble about browser resses, whislt this debate continues, so does technology.
The site is viewable fine fullscreen in 800x600, a slight bit of clipping depending on your browser (remember IE 6 is far slimer than FF, NS, SAF) 2nd, 800x600 is the bare minimum to run WinXP 3rd, 1024x768 is the bare minimum to run Vista was coded for a 1024x768 website, anyone who is still using 800x600 i frown upon, anyone who uses 1024, i pity, i struggle using 1680x1050, bring back the 2048x1536 res screens with 80hz refresh rate please! Also remember screen sizes are far bigger nowadays and people dont need "HUGE MASSIVE ICONS PLZ!" I did however increase the Menu Nav text size Karinne and Minute44 will be pleased to notice, and ive also added some subtle images on the front page (will be a feature throughout the page). Just curious on the Contact page, i need cross-div forms, never come across it, new idea possibly, but do-able? And im not foolish to think no one uses 800x600 anymore, or 1024, our retarded CAD guy at work with a 21" 4:3 monitor uses 1024 to do his cad work on (WHY?) no idea but still! Anything on the code? seems everyone is ok about the layout, apart from the res it was designed for, but still! Would like someone to rip it apart to make sure its top knotch, maybe a look/laugh at the SEO? Who knows, want it ragging abit |
