This is a text based RPG that allows you to play as either one of the Templars, Jews or Saladin's men in the conquest for Jerusalem. I have other similar RPGs that surround other themes and they do well, but not this one. I am not sure if it is the theme or look, you are free to check it out including the actual game play if you wish.

Re: Jerusalem Conquest

I dont like it... It looks like somthing created in front page or some other WYSIWYG like that... Also the code looks like it aswell. 6 errors including NO Doctype!

Why do you have so many adverts?

Re: Jerusalem Conquest

It is a game, and is ad supported. You need to actually play the game to understand the site and make a fair assessment.

You've asked for a web design critique, not a game critique!

We don't need to play your game to assess the quality of your web pages.

Re: Jerusalem Conquest

Web Design is a matter of cosmetics and not part of function per se, it is not important for me as much as the visitor getting what they want out of the site which is to control an army within a time period. Anyhow, carry on as you will.

You are so, so wrong about web design. It is primarily not a matter of cosmetics, but of function. You may fail to comprehend the functional elements of web design, but that doesn't make them any less real.

For example, a website that does not validate is potentially non-functional: users may have unpredictable problems with the display, or in rare cases be unable to access the site at all.

Fix your validation errors. And if you want feedback concerning the game itself, you'd be better off on a gaming forum. This is a web design forum. Most members are not interested in text-based RPGs -- which are rather specialist, you know!

Re: Jerusalem Conquest

Also, you don't expect us to register (even if it's free) just to play the game, do you? I for one will not sign up just to see what the game is like. If you want critique, you should temporarily lift the password protection so that we can get in quickly, play the game, leave, and tell you what we think. Making it 'members only' will not make it easy for us to critique, and that's not the idea. And anyway, as it has been said ^, this is not the place to ask for game critique :: putting the thread here is asking for website critique...

Re: Jerusalem Conquest

I'm tempted to call "spam" on this thread. It sounds oh so much like you want us to play the game rather than review the site. Because whenever anyone has mentioned a problem with the site you bring the onversation round to the game. The game is irrelevant! We are here to view the site.

Re: Jerusalem Conquest

I am tempted to mark it 'spam', too. You are pretty much advertising your game!
