Re: dave patrick design

Hey. Nice design. It's lookin' good.

The only thing I don't really like about it is that header image. I think it just looks a big squashed in there.

Also I think the content could be a bit better. I'm not really one to judge but I must say it doesn't sound completely professional.

"relatively new (only been designing for 1 year) my portfolio is still in its infancy"

Something about that I just don't like. (Not no apostrophe on its lol)

Apart from that it's good. Nice validation too I might add.

Re: dave patrick design

Thanks for the reply Blake 121, to be honest the content was just thrown in to fill and get a feel for what it may look like. I assume it's the flower on the header you dont like,I may play around with the size and see what happens.

Cheers Pat.

PS what part of Scotland are you from, I am originally from bonnie Dundee.

Re: dave patrick design

Yes its the flower that is a bit dodgy just now. The text is good though.

And what do you know. I'm from Monifieth. Just outside Dundee. Right beside Carnoustie, the place with all the golf lol.

Re: dave patrick design

Hey,

Really like the design when I make my browser window really small.

I have a very big monitor here at work and it's widescreen, and while I think that a floating width (is that the right expression) website is great in principle, it does mean that you rely on the user having the same size screen as you...

Maybe you should fix the width and centre align it... Just an idea.

Tom

It's good, the only thing I would change is the top image, it looks like a triffid about to attack !!

I don't think the problem is the size as such, its the fact that it appears horizontally stretched compared to the images at the bottom. Also I think it might be nice if there was something different at the bottom, or just one copy of the flower image.

Also you could consider using a different method of spacing the header image (rather than using the png itself for spacing) as it overlaps your logo when the page is reduced in size.

I look forward to seeing the rest of the pages.

Re: dave patrick design

I quite like it. It's a very good start. Just a few things that need tiding up.

The content ... try adding a letter-spacing in there. Might make it better.

As for the "flowers" ... yeah ... they look odd! Have you tried something like flower brushes instead? There's some really going ones in there that I think you could apply there instead.
