Ocleads
http://www.ocleads.org The site is dedicated to trading business leads in Orange County California. So basically if your in a business that looks for sales leads in an industry in Orange County this may be a great way for you to do some B2B networking for free and online instead of going to lame meetings. Check it out if you get a chance. It's also a great place to find people who need Web design. Thanks, Matt |

Re: Ocleads
My initial reaction to viewing the site is that I just stepped back into the 90's!
Papyrus font on the header is a big flash back in time! I can tell you are using Dreamweaver in design view. All those tables and inline non-sensical css. Style1, style 2, style 5.. oh that takes me back a little in time. I'm not very excited about the design. I've seen it all before. I would suggest a new header. Something more professional. A different font would accomplish that. The site is a little wide for my liking. You don't have much content so having it at 100% seems off. Oh well.. sorry. |

Re: Ocleads
Nothing to appologize about whatsover. Thanks for the critique that's why I posted in here. You said alot and I am just wondering how I would come out of the 90s and join the 2000's. I started programming in the 90's and definitley some of my techniques come from that time period.
One thing I should say is that when i designed this I wanted to make a 100 percent web site because I had never done so before and I didn't know how to accomplish it with it looking right on every computer. I must say I was proud of myself for doing that on this site. If you notice no matter what resolution the logo slides to fit the resolution of any computer. On another note though your probably right not much content for such a size, but I am planning on having way more content as the site expands and grows. I just don't have it yet. My question to you is how are people designing differntly now. What programs are the best to use. I am still using Adobe CS, and dreamweaver MX. What's the best thing out there for design these days? I get really confused with how to implement Cascading Style Sheets Appropriatly and you are right dreamweaver is totally lame for the CSS. Any reccomendations would be helpful. Thanks, Matt |

Re: Ocleads
I think some of the best places online to see examples of what is new and unique is to browse sites such as css.mania, http://zeniltuo.com/
Dreamweaver is a fine program and many of us here use it. However we have moved to the code view versus the design view. CSS is a bit of a struggle at the beginning but once you begin to understand it, you will never want to go back to styles such as style1, style 2 which mean nothing at all. We have lots of information in the beginner's resources section. I also started with this tutorial using dreamweaver and it helped me a ton to get started. I see you have worked hard on your site. The fact that it's fluid is fantastic. Hope that helps you... |
