Viewpoint Communications
Our website is to serve as a place for our current clients to find out what other services we do. And also for potential new clients to be able to find out what services we offer, place to contact us, all the information they need to want to use us to service their projects. I would like to know if we do a good job of getting out what exactly we do and any helpful information and content that will help us gain new business if we were to do an advertising campaign in our local areas.
Thanks Brad |

Re: Viewpoint Communications
I am still learning coding so mine is how the site looks.
I am a communication consultant and I work with companies like yours. If I were looking to work with your company, I would want to know alot more about you. For example..About us: Viewpoint Communications was founded in 19xx by John and Jane Doe to provide xxxxxx If you want to use your site to sell yourself, don't make it an adventure to find out what they need. Your client list might also show what you did for them ie ABC Co. - data network installation and wiring. If I had never used you before, I would want to know how you worked and I wouldn't be above calling some of your clients. It might be a good idea to get some testeimonials for your site.

Re: Viewpoint Communications
I think it would be nice if the homepage had a bulleted <li> showing exactly what services you offer. Then elaborate on the services page. I think each service should be given a brief write-up.
For SEO purposes, a css-based navigation would be great. If you do not intend to have a css-based text navigation, text links at the bottom are a must. You need to implement the h1 through h6 tags. Think of this site as a brochure. It needs information. There is so little information on this site that "trust" is a major issue. If you aren't selling yourself, who will? The email links do not work... that's frustrating to me. I want to be able to reach you easily. I like the colors and the layout is fine however the site looks like it was put together in a matter of hours. I think it's a great beginning... with the suggestions you've received so far, I think it could be GREAT! |

Re: Viewpoint Communications
I don't know what it is, but one look at your site and I knew it was made with tables. Maybe I have ESP, or maybe it's just the general feel of the '90s that's shining through your site. It's not Web 2.0 to be sure!

Re: Viewpoint Communications
Oh no .. Ryan used the "Web 2.0" word!
Totally agree with what everyone has said so far. I does look like it was made in an hour. Everything is the same. There's no change from page to page. Granted there should be much but ... at least a change of graphic like Vanessa said. Actually Ryan ... it's worst that tables ... it's ImageReady slices Dude .... the design is not that complicated. Get with the times and learn to hand-code your site. Resources for learning how to use CSS for layout What's the point of that orange sidebar?! Will there be something in there?! Some of the design aspect are nice. I love the navigation but it really should be done with CSS (Pure CSS rollovers without Javascript) and not an image map. I just think it need more content. More something ... pictures, client info, etc... |
