Re: Deal-Times

Seems high on ads, low on content. I'm not sure exactly what service you're providing.

Re: Deal-Times

I do agree with ytterbius a bit. After spending about 10 minutes on your site, I'm not sure what you are attempting to do here.
Build a community with solid ideas for marketing? Why doesn't it say that under your logo? Better Deals anytime makes it sound like you are finding discounts on cars, washing machines, magazine subscriptions.

As far as the layout goes, I like the left navigation and the top nav. Not crazy for the font choice. It looks messy I find the site pretty easy to use but at this point your content is not up to speed. I'm sure you are still building the site content?

You have a typo on the forum. Amazon Example is spelled incorrectly. The colors on the forum do not match the rest of the site. I'd suggest you make the change for consistency.

Hope that helps!

Overall it's pretty good...

Re: Deal-Times

You absolutely right. I just started and not all content is there. Some categories are empty. I wanted to give a test drive for functionality.
Speaking about name-I planned this site to be a bridge between a couple of different sites on different topics. And then decided to change it to a different direction and to evaluate some of marketing ideas and to show what worked for me.
You absolutely right about forum apparence. This was the first thing that I tried to do-to make changes to forum CSS to match my site template. For some reason my own Joomla template interfere with forum template. So, I left default forum template until I'll figure out why this is happening.
Thank you for helpful feedback.

Re: Deal-Times

To me your site looks too plain colour wise. Perhaps you could make it more attractive by adding colour to the background. You could also take some of the ads by google off, it makes it look too cluttered. I know this is off-topic but can i ask how much money you actually recieve from these ads?

Marc.

Re: Deal-Times

Well, may be you are right about amount of adds. But speaking about color scheme-I completely disagree. It does not looking boring to me. And layout looks clean (at least for me).
What color scheme do you like? Can you show an example?
And Linda helped me a lot. I highly appreciate her help with my CSS problem. Color scheme for forum fixed to match site colors.
Speaking about AdSense and money-cup of coffee a day. But the traffic is low and specific. I'll see how this will go as soon as more content will be there.

Re: Deal-Times

Forum color looks great! Keep us posted on the Adsense info... What you find works or doesn't work. That something I have no experience with.

Sometimes I wonder if the only people making money on Adsense is google? It would be interesting to know!

Re: Deal-Times

The forums do look very nice.

I think on the home page get rid of the ads in the centre of the page and just keep the ads on the right hand column.
Maybe you could use a different font as well, I'm not too keen on the current one.

If you dont mind me asking, how much do you make with adsense?
