Zoomable Tree
Recently I had an idea about a way to navigate through a tree that is quicker than the typical outliner. So over the past few days I did a javascript/prototype/scriptaculous implementation of the idea. Personally, I like the result, but before I spend more time on perfecting it and making it work on Internet Explorer, I would like to get opinions.
View an example here . It doesn't work in Internet Explorer at the moment. Is it a good/bad idea? I wrote the code pretty quick so there are probably some bugs and room for improvement in the implementation. If you see any obvious things, you can mention them here. |

Re: Zoomable Tree
Quick question. Are we supposed to be able to read the very fine print?
I see a shadow in FF2 but can't really read the text although I know there is some there? |

Re: Zoomable Tree
Ya, I noticed the same thing. If was ok once I clicked on it, but I have to do a by guess and by golly. It would be nice to know before I do...unless that is the reason for the site.

Thats funny because I have been testing it out using Safari and it works even better than Firefox for me. What version of Safari are you using? What kind of bugs are they? Just to clarify, this is an example of a Zoomable tree, a concept that I have been working on. It is an interface that I am thinking about implementing in a web application but before I work on it a lot more I want to get opinions from the developer community about wether the concept is a good/bad idea. It does the same thing as an outliner but in a slightly different way. The point is to try to make navigating and using a tree faster and more efficient. Thanks for all the replies so far. |
