Webmaster Files
Okay you may have heard about the hosting issues I had, but anyways its caused me to redo the whole site from scratch. Hopefully more content will be added soon but for now I would love and appreciate if you could support the site by digging or stumbling the site or articles.
Also you can submit templates, articles or files via the contact form. I hope to change this so the site has a full multi-user system allowing much better content addition from members for now it will have to do. I am also looking for link exchanges with other webmaster sites so please post if interested or PM me. If you had a link exchange with me before my site messed up and I have forgot to put you on the affiliated list please post also and I am very sorry. |

Re: Webmaster Files
I really feel this site has too much white, empty space... feels a bit bland. Also, your XHTML has 46 errors just on the home page.
Navigation seems to be in the wrong place. I keep wanting to go over to the left.

Re: Webmaster Files
Errors are mainly due to integration into cms. There is a lot of white space but this is designed to be more content based and earning based. Thanks for comments though. I shal take them into account for my next.

Re: Webmaster Files
You are selling a service..(even if it is free) so you have to grab your clients attention and keep it long enough to get a reaction..ie download template. Right now the site is lacking (what everyone here knows I will say) the WOW factor. It is basic business 401 and it is offen the hardest thing a web designer has to learn. It happens some place between for fun and wow, I can make money at this. You have a good start...I look forward to the evolution.

Re: Webmaster Files
I appreciate your view tend to disagree with it. I have made sites in the past more contreversial looking like www.freecss.info, which is good for looking at but for this site I believe doing a "wow" factor design would not be beneficial. Since I am not really stressing the templates anymore I expect the bulk of the traffic to be from digging and search engines on tutorials and written content. Therefore I felt a simple design would be better for ad blending and simplicity and ease to read which is integral to a site if you are there to read. Please respond if you wish to disagree. I accept what you say though as the design would probably not bring that many return visitors or people who recognise the site immediately as being unique.
Having just said that I must say so far I have not reaped any benefits in terms of earning or raises in CTR |

Re: Webmaster Files
I don't disagree with you and your explaination more than makes sense for your needs. I don't dislike the simple design, however, even the simplest design can make a statement. Once a search engine finds your site, you want your visitors to stay and read the tutorials and information you offer. You do not need a bells and whistles kind of site, but you do need a little more to catch and keep attention. And please remember, this is my personal opinion not anyone elses. I am still learning and all my comments have nothing to do with the code, I just look at them as would any other visitor.

Re: Webmaster Files
I'll have to say that the site need a bit more punch of colors in there. I have a VERY hard time looking at your login and rss button and the logo because it blend too much with the background.
Directories can be attractive and simple and yes ... have a wow factor http://cssmania.com/topics/portal/directorysearch/ |

Re: Webmaster Files
Yeah, it's a bit plain. Throw in some colour. Subtle shades if you want to keep it simple and clean. But as has been said simple does not mean dull, and at the minute it doesn't exactly catch the eye.
