Re: Wsp
It's nice ... very simple
but.... The images are so pale! I know it's for the rollover thing but I think they'd be nice if you let them original with the grey text and when you hover you get the red text and maybe add an outer glow?! A little indentation in the code would be nice too Going in the site ... man ... you sure like your light gray Otherwise ... it's a really nice site overall. It's giving me a few ideas for my uncles' web site I should be starting soon |

Re: Wsp
Spinal.... you busy guy!
Have you tried the homepage graphic in the opposite direction. Full graphics and then transparent on hover over? On the furniture pages for instance "livingroom" I have an issue with the subheading "living room pine furniture" which is further out to the left margin than the header of the page and the navigations. Same with the breadcrumb links at the bottom as well as the footer text. I think you should select one left margin and stick with it. This is just a personal taste comment... but the unfinished furniture is not the most exciting in color... I really think this page could benefit from some color. All the light gray is so sterile. I think the header would be nice with a burgundy background with the business name in white. Reverse it for a punch. One thing I have to mention is that I was surprised to see tables... I thought you were a purest? Nice site.. very professional.. a little too clean Good job! |

Re: Wsp
Hi guys, thank you so much for taking the time to critique the site.
I'm quite surprised with the feedback, I thought you guys would hate it! light colours: I know what you mean about the 'pale' appearance and overuse of 'light shades' of gray. Like LChad said, I wanted the furtniture to take center stage, but I admit I may have overdone it slightly. I'll work on that... sub-menus hard to read: I'll increase the contrast when I mess around with the colours... margins: very good point, I'll sort that out too... tables: I really tried but I could not get the images to align properly on pure css. I'll get there.... My biggest problem is that all images have completelly different dimensions and even though I'm resizing them dynamically on the server, I'm still finding it difficult to position them properly... the code: sorry, my CMS removes all white space to save on bandwidth and db storage when the page is cached. I can't make any changes now, but I'll update the site tomorrow or monday and I'd really appreciate your feedback then... Cheers!
