Live Review

This is a project I've been working on which is just in the beta stage for now, with it hopefully going full on promotion within the next few weeks, but could you please comment on the look and feel of the site.

Ignore the coding, I know it's a complete mess, so just the look of the site please

Are you just asking us to critique the forum skin? Because that's all it is right?

If so - then it looks nice. Not sure what else I can say? I can't even critique the forum as it's just a bog stock phpbb board.

Yeah just the forum skin, I know they're not the easiest things to review, just to get some feedback on if you think it could be improved at all

No probs - I can appreciate the hard work involved in forum skinning - especially when it comes to custom images/buttons.

I think it's nice, although I'm not a big fan of how dark the site is. Maybe a fourth colour could be used to break it up a little?

Yeah I can see what ya mean. I put it so dark because it's mainly gonna be aiming at the kind of people who go to gigs alot and most wear lots of black ha ha. Plus all my recent sites I've made have been for small businesses and have been bright and cheerful so fancied a bit of a change really. I'll see though, may brighten it up later

Ah right - in that case, ignore my suggestion. If it's what your target market wants, then so be it. Are you building the site for someone or is it personal?

It's personal. I love going to gigs and festivals myself and just thought that there's nothing else really like it on the net so thought I'd set it up and see how it goes really. Plus it was my first time skinning a forum which I thought would be good experience

The skin is really creative! Looks like you spent a lot of time on it! Love the speakers above each category!
The only thing I see and this may just be me... I find red text on dark a little hard on the eyes over time. If someone were to spend a lot of time on your site, would it shorten their visits? I may just be me so take it or leave it.

Yeah I love the speakers at the top of each category and I think the colours are quite accurate to what you are aiming at - red & black hehe. I don't like Arial though, in that font size, it looks blaaah and so close together: especially on a very high contrast site like that but maybe that's just personal preference

nice forum I like the colorsthe black and the red but it looks just like any other forum and does not have many subjects but its good
