This is my second design for perfect planters.

More info on products is only available on the products shown on index.html. Only made them so far. Need to add lots of content but what do you think so far?

I will sort validation errors and add meta tags once I have added content.

Re: mcwebdesign.jamroll.net/perfectplanters/

Uh, why do I see 1/20 of a Google Ads block?

Re: mcwebdesign.jamroll.net/perfectplanters/

Oh yeah ignore that its just ads which my testing server puts on. It won't be there on real server. Any ideas why the more info link displays off in IE7?

Re: mcwebdesign.jamroll.net/perfectplanters/

Mikka23, only thought so far is that the header is a little weak. The flowers are a bit small and not very impressive. I know you are crunched for space and I don't really have a solution for you but the flowers and business name are kind of lost in that space.

I think I noticed more than one h1 tag on the homepage. It's better to use just one.

Ok.. I know I'm slow and this isn't a critique but have you seen this site in FF and IE7? They look very different! Even the font looks very different.

Can't help you with the link display...sorry... I'm sure someone else can...

Re: mcwebdesign.jamroll.net/perfectplanters/

Yeah the header doesn't really do it for me at all, it's a shame to see all that space go to waste =) Maybe you could look into widening the approach to displaying it so it fills up at least 50% of the space available. Maybe also heightening the green bars in the content area would also improve the look and feel of the site: right now, when there is a letter which comes under the alphabet e.g. 'g' it cuts right into where the box ends beneath it and looks a little weird.

Regarding the font, I think this is just IE7's anti-aliasing of fonts feature as to why they look different. Sure it looks different to FF but it's a hell of a lot easier to read smoothly rendered text. The difference with the link display across browsers is usually down to your padding and margin use in my experience in that area so try experimenting with different ways of displaying that.

[side note: it doesn't validate, but it's only 9 errors ]

Re: mcwebdesign.jamroll.net/perfectplanters/

I experimented with the more info links but cant figure out how to displya right in IE. IE7 font just sucks in general. I will expand the header and possibly add a few gradients into the design. Thanks for crit. Also add padding-bottom on the h1, h2 tags.

I like it, not sure if you already increased the header but I think the logo and plants look great.

Also I think the gray and green really look great together but I am no designer

Re: mcwebdesign.jamroll.net/perfectplanters/

Why not considering taking online orders. The site looks great and think you could get some additional revenue??

Re: mcwebdesign.jamroll.net/perfectplanters/

Server seems to have deleted the template :S I think I may sell affiliate products and bring revenue in this way whilst keeping examples of my own products. Sell slightly different products in same kind of area.
