cropping an fla

hello to one and all can any body help me please?

I'm trying to do somthing which i'm sure is very simple but can see the wood for the trees.

I have been building a animation in flash and would like to crop the whole thing much like you do in photoshop. i.e.- select the crop tool make it the size I want and retain all the layers.

I can change the size of the stage and make it match contents but I want to crop further, but when I make the stage smaller all the layers stay in the same place, and when I try and move the layers into place, it only lets me do it keyframe by keyframe which is taking forever as I have so many layers.

can any one help??? Rich

Re: cropping an fla

Are you in flash 8? If so do this.
Create a new flash doc. Doesn't matter what size.
Open the components window and drag the loader component out onto the stage. In the properties panel, set the content path to your file. (SWF). Then, make sure the Scale content option if on true. Then, change the size of the loader to whatever floats your boat. That should do it. Lemme know if it doesn't, and I'll try and help ya out.

Re: cropping an fla

Yes, I read what he said.
He said he wanted it resized without having to do it by every frame. This will resize it, it just adds the loader function too it........Unless he wanted a portion of something on the fla doc.....hmm............Well......I'll get back to you on that...

Re: cropping an fla

Why not use the Edit multiple frame feature in flash?

Re: cropping an fla

Because it didn't exist in my mind until right now.
Go with Jacob's idea and use the Edit multiple frame feature.
