looping background music
How do I loop background music across multiple scenes? The soundtrack stops abruptly everything you change scenes and restarts. I did an import of the mp3 file into the first keyframe and set the loop to 9999. any suggestions

Yeah, if you want to between scene changes you can make the music restart over, like put a sound effect between them. Also, don't set the sound file to streaming, either event or Start should do the trick. If it is a long loop and you dont want to put a sound effect in between it, you can put A Start type sound file in your first scene, You can't use any stop commands for this to work, then in the next scene You can enter the song as a Stop type. It should work, that is the way I did it once.

It is a long loop ( around 10 seconds ) and I don't want to put fade out at the end when the scene ends ( because its some sort of a website bkground music ).
Referring to your reply ... "you can put A Start type sound file in your first scene, You can't use any stop commands for this to work, then in the next scene You can enter the song as a Stop type. It should work, that is the way I did it once."... I don't really get what you mean. Can you explain ( sorry but I'm a bit thick in flash |

lol, In the properties menu you will find the SYNC: button . There you will find the start and Stop options. First scene should have the start SYNC: next scene should have the Stop SYNC:. if that doesn't work, than you can send me the file and I will figure it out and create a movie to show you how to do it.

This is a very simple method for spreading sound across scenes, but it does work as Kulegamr has explained.
You place your sound where you want it to start in it's own keyframe, on it's own layer and set the "effect" in the properties tab to "none" and sync to "start". Looping it 9999 times or something is essential. This will keep the sound playing for 9999 times through any number of scenes that follow as long as you do not intentionally stop the sound, by setting sync to "stop". I hope this helps...? If you can't find the properties tab go to "windows" on the file menu and then "properties". The audio options will only be displayed if you have selected your keyframe. |
