flash help - fading images

hi all, I hope you might be able to help me....
Im a bit of a novice with flash so bear with me.

Im trying to create a showreel with images fading into the next image every few seconds but I havent a clue where to start doing this. Ive looked through all my flash books with no luck.... Can anyone help?

I would recommend doing motion tweens between the images. It is very easy to accomplish this task. I might also put buttons to allow the user to skip ahead to the next picture. If this sounds like something you are looking for then, let me know. I will upload a sample one, so that you can look at it and go from there.

Hi,
thanks tonnes for the advice.

Im not sure if I am doing some thing really wrong along the process but when i make a motiion tween between the pictures when I play the animation, the first picture stays on for a few seconds then jumps sharply to the second picture.

It seems I'm missing something about how to create the actual fade effect...

Maybe the files I am using arent the right ort maybe? Is it best to use JPEG of EPS photos?

Post the Fla file up here. Let me take a look at it and see what you are doing wrong.
