Seeking a compassionate designer

Hi all,

I’d like to post a humble request for a donation of a freelance FLASH designer’s time and skill for a very small project. Please let me explain briefly.

I have a logo design that I would like to have made into an attractive, catchy, unique and memorable little FLASH animation that I can offer as a free download to visitors of the site I am currently creating. This project is a not-for-profit organization that helps needy/underprivileged MMJ (medical Marijuana) patients of all ages, get the special hydroponics or soil growing equipment and accessories they so urgently require to grow their own medicinal preparations in the safety and security of their own homes…for free!
We are run exclusively by a very compassionate, generous volunteer work force. We operate on donations alone.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with MMJ, it is Cannabis (or Marijuana, depending on where you live) that is grown and used specifically to relieve pain in ill and injured medical patients, loss of appetite and the resulting terrific weight loss that cancer and other diseases can inflict on the body.
Patients who are forced to take prescription pain medications that contain highly-addictive opiates and harsh chemicals analgesics to deal with illness or injury pain, must also endure the frequently troubling side-effects that these preparations are notorious for…side effects that they DO NOT SUFFER when using MMJ to deal with their pain or appetite or emotional disorders.

If anyone has a little time they can donate to this most worthy project, please contact me so we can discuss the details. The custom logo is already designed and ready to go. I just need it FLASHED up and really spectacular looking so that people will want to download it. This gets the MMJ Today name out there and keeps it fresh in people’s minds.
You will be given full credit with a link to your own Website under the “Angel Donator” section for your help.

I apologise for the long post, but it was necessary for me to explain thoroughly before I asked for help.

I hope to hear from you soon! All the best!

David

Hello!

That's outstanding news! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and generosity. My physical condition has deteriorated to the point where I am unable to do it all anymore because the pain becomes too much for me and I have to rest far too frequently to be efficient at much of anything any longer.

Your donation of time and effort and talent--an act of pure compassion--will not go unrewarded mate. Karma is a very good and powerful force, and it gets heaped on those who give unselfishly of themselves.

I shall await your E-mail, my friend. Thanks again!

David

Re: Seeking a compassionate designer

Don't want to be a wet-blanket here (we all have friends who suffer this), but I'm not sure the subject of the website is legal in this country yet.

If it isn't, technically, you could be 'aiding and abetting'.

I don't want to stop you, I'm just pointing it out so ya know.

Yeah I just now thought of that. I am glad you mentioned it. I don't know wither this is legal or not. Does any one know wither this is legal in the US? You would think I would know, but I have no freakin ideal. I should know with my job and all. But wrong department.

"Wet blankets" are a valuable thing, my friend. They can open our eyes to things we may have missed. But in this case I must respectfully disagree with your position, sir.

The "subject" of Cannabis is not illegal anywhere. Child sex slave rings are horrid and extremely illegal, but some respectable design companies and individuals out there have been hired in the past to design and build the sites that will allow you to graphically learn all about it. No one associates the Web site designer with the subject matter.

MMJ Today will not provide seeds or any other living product to any of its clients. The international trade in Cannabis seeds is indeed a dodgy activity that can land one in hot water with the law. Because of that fact, we will confine our actions only to products and services that are not only entirely legal, but completely acceptable as they are used for ligitimate horticultural enthusiasts as well as MMJ pateints.

The aim of this project, pure and simple, is to provide the equipment that is needed for these people to grow their own medications, not do deal with the medication itself.

There is nothing illegal or even questionable about any of the products or services that MMJ TODAY provides.

So please don't allow that idea to ifluence your decision to help these people live a better life.

Thank you!

All the best!

David

And thnks go to you as well Rusty! If you do help with anything at all (collaborating with your friend) then please make sure I know about it so I can add your name to the Angel Donators list.

Thanks again for stepping up to help these people. You're a good man!

Rusty,

I just realized what you typed...that you are in 6th form. I am even more impressed with you now than before, mate. You are the second school-aged chap to offer assistnce with the MMJ Today project. The other young man lives in Michigan, in the USA.

It really warms my heart to see kids helping. They get such a bad rap in the newspapers because of a handful of idiots.

My hat is definitely off to you, Rusty!

Re: Seeking a compassionate designer

Personally I support the particular use mentioned and think the Govt. is being daft in this instance.

However, cultivation and/or supply of canabis is still illegal in the U.K. regardless of intent. One small area of South London is excempt as a trial area but this is also going to be rescinded due to poor results from the test period. Thus, my point is relevant and helpers should bear it in mind.

Re: Seeking a compassionate designer

I think you all have confused thngs a bit, I'm afraid. It is a confusing issue to many so I'll try and clarify a bit more for you. MMJ Today has nothing to do with Cannbis in any way, shape or form. We don't see it, touch it, smell it, ship it, recieve it. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

All we do is arrange to get the donated equipment--which, by the way is the exact same equipment from the same manufacturers that you'll find in any large gardening supply center-- from the companies and private citizen's who wish to the people who cannot afford to purchase it.

I hope this new information has been helpful to you. Thank you all again for even considering my request.

Re: Seeking a compassionate designer

Hey, David in the UK. As Bill Clinton used to say, “I feel your pain.” I’m a recovering cancer patient, with an accent on the “recovering.” What you are attempting to do is noble and you’re definitely one of the good guys!

There seems to be a lot of confusion in this thread with regard to the status of medical marijuana in the United States. So far, eleven states have passed laws making it legal within their borders, provided a doctor prescribes it. Dozens of professional medical associations, including Nurses and Doctors, have come out in favor of prescribing pot for certain ailments.

The federal government, on the other hand, is still in the dark ages. They are sticking to the letter of the law, which classified marijuana as a Schedule One drug, alongside heroin, in 1970. There were political reasons for this—all you have to know is that Richard Nixon was President at the time. (Does that answer your questions?)

I happen to live in one of the eleven states that allow medpot, and I literally sing its praises often. I am also an amateur musician, who appears at small functions and I write my own songs. I also sing a lot of Dylan and Lennon, since they both helped to expand my mind and open my heart.

To send a used 600W grow light fixture to England would be perfectly within the law. As David says, most of the equipment used by grow rooms throughout North America, is the same equipment used by people who grow lettuce, cucumbers, and orchids. Many of these are grown indoors, under artificial light, using hydroponics. The same as cannabis.

Please visit my website to read about how a medical marijuana grow room is put together. I was fortunate enough to find a very helpful website, Advanced Nutrients Medical, which specializes in helping legal medical marijuana patients to be brave and start growing their own.

I use their 100% organic line of nutrients, including Iguana Juice and Mother Earth Super Tea, Grow and Bloom. I get superb results with these products and my wife and I enjoy the most robust, best tasting medicine around. Claire suffers from excruciating migraines and thus is also a medpot patient.

I also use Advanced Nutrients inoculants like Voodoo Juice for strong roots and Scorpion Juice for Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) which helps to ward off many pathogens. Even though we grow indoors, pests and diseases can still be a problem. For this reason Advanced Nutrients advised us to use Barricade and Protector, to strengthen our cannabis plants from within and stop powdery mildew specifically, which occurs frequently when humidity is high.

I am not in a position to donate right now, but I wish you the best and perhaps these words of advice were helpful on some level.
