Flash Poll
This poll is for anyone and everyone that wishes to participate and express their views on Macromedia Flash. I am just curious as to how the members of webforumz feel about flash. Now is your chance you are going to be the deciding vote. If someone browsing this forum sees that 98% of users find flash annoying. Then chances are they are not going to put flash on there site. SO VOTE!! Then leave a comment about what option you choose and why.

Ditto.
Sums up exactly how I feel about it. See some really great Flash files that inspire and hold the viewer hooked. Seen some others done by complete noobs for their own benefit with no regard for their audience which put me off the site and the designer. Extremely bad examples just make me cross.

I think flash has the potential to be one of the best web development programs on the web. But there are so many people that misuse flash, which in return gives flash a bad name. But I have seen some REALLY COOL flash websites. So I am sticking with my answer, "I think flash is a GREAT tool. If used correctly”.

I agree. Flash is a great tool in reality in Web graphics and animations and there's no doubt to satisfy your visitors you need both of those(Web graphics and anim). I would prefer a site having a header file as flash but the rest as non-flash. i've also used to create a logo with flash for my friend. So Flash is a gr8 tool, if used correctly and appropriately in places.

I think Flash is a good "Enhancement" tool and with things like sIFR etc becoming much more accessible but with the exception of true rich media experiences I don't think it truley has a home on the web as a complete solution for delivering information. At least not until it is as accessible as XHTML etc... But that is just my take. For example like with javascript, nothing on mission critical on your site should depend on javascript for it to function. It is all about graceful degredation and making it all smoof and good for the masses. and that is my ONLY issue with flash, well that and the sheer amount of crap. tee hee.
