BRAND NEW to Flash

So I just got a hold of the cs3 master suite and I want to learn how to work flash.

I've been working on templates in Photoshop for a bit now (I'm no pro thought) and I just wanted to learn how to add some flash to the buttons or banners or something like that. I noticed that you can import .PSD files into flash. Is that what I am suppose to do when I am done creating my template? I just wnted to loop an effect on the banner and add some effects to the nav buttons of my template.

I don't think I'm suppose to import the whole template but maybe just the banner or buttons and create the symbols and layers there? Then save it as an .swf file and treat it as I would an image when I code the template?

Any help will be appreciated!!!! Hope I didn't confuse anyone, because I kind of confused myself!

Re: BRAND NEW to Flash

If you want to create a full flash site, maybe you need to import the whole .psd file into flash, but if you want to create banners, you can import the parts you need only.
for example if you created a template with a header, you can simply create a separate .psd file for the header and import it to flash and work on it, not entire template.
I dont know if it helps you or not, ask me if you need more details..

Re: BRAND NEW to Flash

Yeah, makes sense. When I design PSD's I create seperate folders for header, nav, body, etc. So I guess I'll just import the sperate folders. Thanks. Now all i need to do is figue out how to make effects and ****!

Thanks again.
