trouble posting videos to my site
Hi I am in the process of building my second only ever website for my church and I am doing it using Yahoo sitebuilder. I will try and make the history to where I am now as brief as possible. I have previously successfully inserted 2 videos compiled with Windows Movie Maker. One was less than 2 minutes the other was more than 1 hour. The finished videos played on Windows Media player. When I went to add a third video of 40 min., I began to have trouble. When I called Yahoo Tech Services, they simply told me the videos were too long and to try linking them to a file on my computer instead of directly on the page. I tried that first, but the page still required me to save the video and so consequently I was still unable to get the videos to publish. I left them to publish overnight even. Next I began to do some research and found that I should convert the files to .flv so I found a free converter and got that done. Now I "think" I need a player to play them on right? So again I found a couple of free players, but neither of them are good enough quality to post. So, I have tried Adobe Flash Player 9. Their website says I have the player downloaded, it is in my add remove programs list. But, I can't choose it as an open with file for the movies. And I can't find it in the Program Files or on the Start Menu All Programs. I have seen the player in use on other websites. What am I missing?
Thanks, I really need to get theses vidoes posted people have been waiting for them since Christmas. |

Re: trouble posting videos to my site
Thanks and I'm sorry but I don't completely understand- I get built in to the browser, but what does that mean to me for posting purposes and do I need to also post a link to the player for anyone wanting to view the videos? Thanks. A

Re: trouble posting videos to my site
If the user already has the player installed they should be able to view the video. If not they won't.
