Mouse Over Images

Hi,

I believe this would be very easy to achieve using Flash... if I knew how.

I would like to have images on this page http://rosallimos.com/fleet.html (exterior limousine pictures) change to an interior shot when you mouse over them.

I'm using Flash CS3. I would really appreciate some help.

Regards,
Melissa

Re: Mouse Over Images

Hi Melissa,

Flash would be a bit of overkill for this type of image change, you would be much better served using javascript.

eg.

Code: Select all
<img src="outside.jpg" width="100" height="100" onmouseover="this.src='inside.jpg';" onmouseout="this.src='outside.jpg';" />
CSS could also help you to achieve this by having a link with a background image that changes when the user hovers over the image.

Cheers,

Re: Mouse Over Images

Yes, but flash is more...flashy, and can be more easily customized to the way you want it to look...

In flash you just need to set the rollover actions.
The easiest way is to make a button. Double click on it, and in the timeline there should be 4 frames.
The first frame is what it will look like without your mouse over it.

The next frame is what your button, image, whatever, will look like when your mouse is over it.

That should do what you want it too. If you need help just ask! Yeah, i know, not the best directions ever, but hopefully they help.

Re: Mouse Over Images

Hey,

Thanks guys, I'll try both and see which one I prefer.

I have actually done this is Flash before and I didn't even know it. I never thought of making it a button. Hopefully I will get better at this with time.

Thanks,
Melissa
