Hiding movie clips?

Hi There,

Does anyone know if there is a way of "hiding" movie clips. I have a strip of buttons that is fairly bandwidth heavy and at the moment, when a button is pushed I am unloading the swf file, and then reloading it when the user has finnished with the corresponding swf. Problem is it takes about ten seconds to load and so I dont want to be constantly loading and unloading it. Loading swf files into levels above it doesn't seem to work as there is a mask that seems to " show" through into any level loaded above it. Help! I don't know what to do.

Set the Alpha to 0. and then when you want them back set the alpha back to 100.
It should be in the properties panel under color.

Or you can do it using actionscript.

movieclip._alpha = 0;

This way you can add the "hide" ability to actionscript commands like onRelease, onRollover, etc.
