Can't see skin on flash video
Here I am! In over my head and need some assistance and getting out!
I have an .flv file that I imported onto my stage using the wizard in Flash CS3Pro. All is well when testing in Dreamweaver. I've uploaded the .flv file, the .swf file but cannot upload the .fla file. I'm getting an access denied, no permissions or file doesn't exist error. Do I need to upload the .fla to see the skin? Or if not, how would I go about seeing the control skin that is associated with my video. Thanks in advance! Linda |

Re: Can't see skin on flash video
Uploading the .fla will have no effect on seeing the skin...
Can you link to show me the problem? The video shows up but not the play/pause/stop buttons?

Re: Can't see skin on flash video
Yes. the video shows up , plays onload which I do not want but I cannot see the play/pause, buttons.
I would like the video to only play once the play button is clicked and see the buttons. Here is the link. It the video on the right. Also while I have your attention, the page never finishes loading since I added the video. Any thoughts? |

Re: Can't see skin on flash video
First off, with CS2 and the pre-built skins it usually outputs a seperate .swf file which is the "skin" so there should be one of those somewhere that you need to upload into the same directory as the .flv and the .swf.
I'm not sure if it is different in CS3 but I doubt it. Also - it the .fla make sure the file paths for the video and the skin are all relative, so they can all be in the same directory. (just double check that) As for the auto play - there is an option in the video component that you need to "uncheck" the auto play option. (or set it from yes to no) Hopefully this sends you in the right direction. :-) Cheers, Scott

Scott that was awesome info! I didn't see the extra skin.swf!
And I was able to change the settings in the inspector! It's working great now! Thank you! |
