Hi,
I need to create a flash poll feature that also collects emails similar to this one: http://www.dmxzone.com/ShowDetail.asp?NewsId=829 then I need those emails to work with some sort of newsletter system that is user friendly because the client will have to be able to write and send them. Anybody? |

Re: Flash Poll and newsletter with php
Creating the poll in flash is pretty easy, just a form that submits to PHP, and on press of submit is advances to the next frame and shows the values entered.
As for how to create a newsletter system I have no idea, that sounds like a question for my PHP friends. Here is some information on Flash Forms and PHP. http://www.kirupa.com/developer/acti..._php_email.htm Post another question about the newsletters in the PHP forum. Cheers, Scott

Re: Flash Poll and newsletter with php
I talked to the guy I'm making it for yesterday and he wants it really fancy like the ESPN.com "Who's Now" poll.
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=whosnow I figure it's the same, just bigger and with more graphics than a regular poll. Maybe instead of radials make the image or something clickable. Then I'll also need a way for users to be able to leave comments and a special private comment area for judges that can be highlighted as a special feature. Whew! This is getting complicated! This started off as such a simple flash site. ( http://www.revisionhockey.com ) I just posted in the php forum to see how the database can be tied together with something like http://www.phplist.com/ As for CMS approach, I've broached the idea with the guy. It may not make a difference to him. But he seems really set on working with the site we have. Plus, I'd love to learn new tricks with Flash and Php. And the way ESPN did it didn't look like CMS at all. Strictly Flash and a database system. Thanx for the help guys. Last edited by Nuwud; Aug 23rd, 2007 at 17:01. Reason: forgot about cms |
