Flash Website

Hi all!
I have this new customer right, and he wants a flash website making, but as I am a not to good on flash it poses a problem, he showed me a website of what it would roughly look like, but obviously with his own content in it!
the website is:
http://www.fairway-design.co.uk/

because main thing he wants is for the centre where the test and images to go, to move and the rest of the website 2 stay, and still animate over and over.
What my question is, does anyone have any tutorials that would help me with how to do this problem, or any help off any1 would be muchly appreciated.
Many Thanks

Cracka

Re: Flash Website

Hi Craka,

I found http://animation.about.com/od/2danim...s_in_Flash.htm to be fairly good as a starting point for doing the motiontween stuff if your unsure about it. Also http://www.w3schools.com/flash/default.asp is good for an overall tutorial.

I'm probably not the best person to be giving advice about this kinda thing.
However personally I'd probably break the site down into 3 areas (it allows you to complete it and sign off on one piece at a time).
1. The main area where text and images are going to go
2. The navigation
3. The rest of the stuff that's going to animate our and over
I would start on part 3 use simple motiontweens to move and change the stuff he wants animated.
When you've got something your happy with publish it as an .swf file.
Then you can import it to the page as a whole and not have to worry too much about it.

1&2 are interlinked
For 1 I would start off creating 10 frame sections for each "section" on the same layer, and give each of these a sensible name using the Frame Label.
This will help to remind you what you are doing on that page and will make creating the navigation easier as you'll beable to use gotoAndStop(<Frame Label>) rather than having to remember what frame was what "section".
For 2 I would give the navigation it's own layer create buttons that have only 1 really actionscript gotoAndStop(<Frame Label>).

I hope this is of some help.
Contact me if you want me to explain anything in my thinking in a bit more detail however I'm sure you can find better people to give you help around here.

Regards
Phil

Re: Flash Website

That website is relatively simple. Just buttons changing the frame in the middle.

That's an extremely simple tutorial on making a flash site.

If you need anything, let me know and I'll try my best to help.
