Hello,
I have been using Adobe Flash 9 for a few days now and i'm relatively new to Flash. I'm doing this animation scene which is supposed to play along with some videos that i have taken. *Now here is my problem* While animating i keep going back and forth to check the animation and it does not give me real time visual i mean its too slow even when i render a scene (Ctrl+Enter) it is rather slow. i would like to know if there is a way to alloting ram or any kind of virtual memory to flash so that i can get real time or near real time viewing. Adobe After Effects and Premiere allow you this feature but i don't think i have come across it with Flash. Does anyone know how to optimize it?? I have a Presario V2000 which has a celeron processor and 750 MB ram, also 128 mb dedicated graphics memory. is there any way that i can get better performance or is it just that my laptop is slow and this is the optimum performance i can get, also if ther are any kind of settings that anyone knows of please share. Thanks a lot and waiting for replies Wendy. |

Re: Optimizing Adobe Flash 9
Interesting! Well, how big is your flash file? How long is the animation?
I personally haven't had this problem, but if you can run AfterEffects OK on your laptop flash shouldn't have a problem like this either...

Re: Optimizing Adobe Flash 9
Ouch, it sounds mostly like it's the laptop then. With a lot of pictures and stuff like that, if the file size is huge it'll definately bog down your computer and take a long time to compile everything.
As for allotting RAM to flash, I have no clue - I've never had to worry about it luckily. How do you do it with AfterEffects? Then Ill brose flash to see if I can find it. Cheers, Scott

Re: Optimizing Adobe Flash 9
Sure, although I am not sure it is really used for much right now. :-)
Basically if you feel that someone has helped you out and you've gained some knowledge from their help you can click the scale icon to increase their power. (what power, I have no clue) Cheers, Scott
