Hello,
I was just helped on this forum with masks. I have another related question. What I'm doing is making a globe that spins. I have a blue circle with a map tweening by. Is there a way to spherize whatever part of the map that is masked inside the clircle? I'd like it to look a little more 3-D, although what I have now will be ok if not. Thanks, ~alhen |

Re: Spherize?
Um - this is a little bit more complex.
You could do it through actionscripting, allowing your map to get bigger/shrink(fisheye maybe) at certain points as it is scrolling through...but this might be fairly time consuming. The other option would be to play off your mask you just created.... What if you took that mask and put small gradiant around the outside of your globe to darken up the sides a bit to make it look like it was going further back in the distance...make sense? Those are a few things to consider. Cheers, Scott

Thanks dcpweb,
Do you have some sort of spherized effect on it? It looks like you don't, but it's a little hard for me to tell. I have the globe working already do don't think I need your globe unless it has a spherize effect. I do like how it's transparent, showing the back side of the globe too... very cool! ~alhen |

Re: Spherize?
Thanks dcpweb,
Those 3D globes are terrific. I see that they just use seperate images for each frame instead of a fisheye effect. Good to know how it's done! Cheers! ~alhen |
