Hi
I'm trying to import a video (MPEG) into flash, I can do this but it takes out all the sound, is there something I'm not checking? How do you import MPEG videos with sound into flash? |

Re: Loading video into flash
Are you importing the video to your library or the stage?
I've never come across this before... |

Re: Loading video into flash
I've tried all three - import to stage, impost to library and import video, I have tried progressive download, streaming from a root to my desktop and embeding the video. When I stumble through the option box/menus the audio comes up transparent and uneditable, this is why I think I'm not checking a box somewhere along the way to include sound... so frustrated!!!! How do you normally import videos with sound into your flash doc? I'm using CS3 and the MPEG I'm testing it on has sound and runs fine in Quick time oh but its quality in flash is terrible - does that help diagnose my problem?!?! HELP....please!

Re: Loading video into flash
Have you tried converting the video to another type? Like avi or flv?

Re: Loading video into flash
Alright well, I can't really help too much at the moment because my version of CS3 is bugging out on me...And I'm reinstalling Studio 8 to see if it happens with Flash 8...

Re: Loading video into flash
Ok, I fixed my CS3. Heres what you do.
I downloaded some random mpeg file and imported it to my library. The first option to make sure you set is to embed it into the swf. As you go through the options, set the audio to a seperate track. Not integrated. After its done encoding. You should have two files in your library. The video and the audio. Drag the video out and it will ask you to make an X amount of frames. Go ahead and say yes. As for the audio, just drag that out onto the stage on the same layer as the video is. Then test the movie and see if it works. That worked for me. hopefully it will work for you... |

Thanks, just noticed your reply I've been heads down bums up looking for a way myself, I'll try what you suggested now, sounds easier!, but in the meantime I found another way cos for some reason the random avi and mpg files I was using flash would not acknowledge that they had sound!! I found a random Avi file and encoded it to a FLV using the Adobe Flash CS3 Video encoder (I had no idea I had it or what it was, duh!) and I have it sussed now.
Thankyou for all your help Pen |

Re: Loading video into flash
Yes, in most cases if you have the option you'll want to encode your videos into an FLV format.
There is a program called Sorenson Squeeze out there that is really great for converting to different formats, check it out!
