Re: Flash not dispalying in the ( only )IE while calling it through swfObject
Hm....interesting - it actually called the flash object and I saw it on the web page the first time I pulled it up on the web page...I even watched the video.
I refreshed the page a couple of times and now it isn't showing up. Obviously an issue calling the .swf object from the .js file. Althrough, I'm not sure I can be much help with this one... I'd reccomend talking to the developer of swfobject. He might be a better help... Cheers, Scott

how big is the video stream? also is the video on the same server as the website or are you dragging it from another server somewhere else?

Yeah flash sometimes has an issue with things being stored on different servers/locations.
I use a streaming server so I have never ran into this issue. But I can see how video file size and/or location can play a factor in this happening. Hard to say though, I don't/have never used the SWF object .js. Cheers, Scott

Re: Flash not dispalying in the ( only )IE while calling it through swfObject
i used xml for mp3 streaming 3-4MB through a flash site and that seemed to be ok and was very quick.
Do you have a large bandwidth for the streaming server? Also check to see if the SWF object .js send a copy back to the server temp folder everytime its open and your temp folder is full. (I am making an asumption here). Its stumped me this one. |

Re: Flash not dispalying in the ( only )IE while calling it through swfObject
A streaming server allows you to stream video - which overall, will allow more users to watch your video since it requires less bandwidth to run.
The drawbacks are that I think you have to buy them from say - Adobe/macromedia and buy their Streaming Server package which costs a monthly fee. I am not sure if there a free ones out there, but I know for reliability of connection and speed we went to Adobe's.
