I am looking for a good piece of information for developing a scrolling photo gallery. Anyone know which way I can be turned for an example?

Hi there Beach Cruise. I am new to this, so please excuse me if I seem a little wet behind the old ears.
When you mean "dynamically loading scrolling gallery" do you mean something like this?
http://www.attik.com/main.html
navigate to Construct and then to Portfolio, then click on one of the clients in the lower list.
In fact, this is the reason that I've just registered with this forum. I want to create a site not that dissimilar to this one. Including a scrolling gallery.
Hope this is relevant.

Re: dynamically loading scrolling gallery

Do you mean a flash function which allows you to move around the project when putting the mouse cursor to the left, right, bottom or top of the window?

Devon, i dont see what you mean in your example? Looks like standard flash with animations to me...

This may well be the case. I haven't designed a Flash site before as I have a Print background. Yes if you follow the nav. list below, their portfolio shows their work in a gallery scroling left and right only, activated by moving the mouse to the left or the right. This is what I assumed was meant by scrolling gallery.

-> Enter Site
->Construct
->Portfolio
->Packaging
->Carlsberg

Hey Sypher,
Sorry to be a pain, but you don't know how to remove that bit of text that pops up at the beginning of the gallery do you? It says:
" Applet from Mandomartis. Click here to get it now"
Also, removing the link would be useful.

I tried to open it in Flash, but I can't seem to manipulate it. I assume this is because it is an swf file.

Many thanks

Ah ha. In the application program that you download from their site.
It's called " Advanced Effect Maker FE V2.0 ". You can make several alterations / tweeks etc.
It is from here you click on a " Create Applet " button, and it creates the file " imagescroller1.swf ".

Re: dynamically loading scrolling gallery

So it automatically generates the ad text?

Theres probably no way round this so your best bet is making your own.

Re: dynamically loading scrolling gallery

Hi
I have made a scroling image gallery and there are several points to it the images are contained in a folder out side of the swf file they are then given names that for instance could be "pic1" so that flash can then get that iomage and put it into a certain part of the swf file. you also have to do that whole process again for the thumbnails so in your folder there will be two of every pic one for the thumbnails and one for the actual image. thats roughly how it works! but i really recomend cartoonsmart.com
thanks
