Help me Please!

Hello, i am new in this FORUM and i liket too much. ( By the WAY i am a FLASH BEGINNER ), i wanted some help from you. I got a *.fla file by an TEMPLATE ( soccer template ). Now in this Flash template there are some menus like...
( HOME, ABOUT US, LINK TO US, PROFILES, STRATEGIES etc...) Now i want to change these menus and other text in that FLASH TEMPLATE for example where it is HOME... i want to make it HOUSE so only to change text. How can i make this in FLASH 8. Please help me.

(If it is needed i can UPLOAD the template)......Thanks

First things first it would be very helpful if you named your layers. Oh go onto the stage and click on Layer 30 for 'Home Page'. Right click and click on 'Break apart'. Repeat until you can highlight the text with the Text tool.

Go through the timeline and identify the layers and edit as above. Good luck. If you get stuck ask away or PM me

I thought he just wanted to change text...and I can't download the template because...I'm at school and someones already downloaded stuff off rapidshare....


But all I see your asking is how to change the text. Just open it up in Flash and...change it.

I wouldn't recommend breaking apart each button with the way this site is laid out... If you do that you'll lose the button qualities of each button.

I do agree with you that you need to label everything better to figure out where everything is.

Instead do this: On each layer that is a button lets use Layer 30 for example.

Double Click on Layer 30 - this will take you into Symbol 244 which has 4 layers. (actions and three others)

Layer 1 is your text Layer - hide the rest of the layers and double click on layer 1, then double click AGAIN. Now you can edit your text.

Repeat this for each layer that has buttons.

Yeah, don't break apart the button. It is set up like that for a reason...lol. You should be able to double click, and you will get to the main text symbol, and their it will be editable.

Yeah and is this site templates case you have to double clikc 3-4 times to get down to the appropriate level....
