Cool Flash newb please help!!

I want to know how to do something that will really add an extra dimension to a site I am designing.

the current design is at www.wirralweb.me.uk and is in image form only.

I want the top image (left) to fade between different images and pan around and zoom slightly and add the words over in stages. as if someone was holding a camera and moving very slowly around and zooming.

Example at http://slideshow.triptracker.net/ but this is javascript and not what i want just the effect.

Is this easy enough for me to learn or should i outsource this part?

Any advice much appreciated...

Re: Flash newb please help!!

This is fairly easy to do. I'd say you could learn it youself.

It involves some basic keyframe animation and that's about it. No action script would really be required except if you wanted it to stop at the end and not loop. Simply inserting stop(); on the last frame of your animation will take care of that. :-)

Check out these links to get an idea of some basic animation principles in flash. :-) Let me know if you run into any issues.

The only other thing I can think of is that if you want to zoom into the pictures make sure they have a decent resolution so they dont pixelate upon zoom in, but it's a happy medium between quality and filesize. Let me know if you have questions. :-)

Re: Flash newb please help!!

Thanks for that. Actually had a go last night after first posting this thread and found it quite straight forward, even the fades between photos etc.

Will post if i run into trouble.

thanks again
