File size and quality Problem
Hi everyone.
In flash i am trying to create a rotating globe. I have created a globe in a 3d program that when rendered will create 80 different image files (TARGA format) to give the rotation affect I can then import these into flash to create the animation. This creates 80 frames with the 80 images. The problem is when publishing the movie the animation is jumpy and it will stick. I really need to have a smooth rotation so that it will look professional. I was thinking it might be due to file size which is about 3.5mb. Is there anyway to lower this with keeping the same image quality? Check a rought version out here. when u click play youwill see what i mean. http://www.kidzglobe.com/testGlobe/globe.html Maybe i need to preload it first? Hope someone can help it will be much appreciated. Thankyou Robert |

Re: File size and quality Problem
I'm relatively new to flash, but I would say a preloader would be one way to help solve the problem.
If the globe is just going to be constantly looping, then you may actually be able to cut out every other image. This will decrease file size, and will make it seem as though the globe is rotating faster (without really skipping a beat in terms of a smooth animation). Or, if the globe will never be used in as big a size as you have created it, why not just make the dimensions of the images and the movie smaller? Like I said, I'm no expert... Hope that helps, though. |

Re: File size and quality Problem
Try a motion tween and see if that helps. From what I've read it looks like you have a frame by frame animation...

Re: File size and quality Problem
Hi well i have the file size down to about a mb, but quality of images are bd in some of the rotations. ill post it for you to see if anyone can come up with any improvements to any aspect.
Also i have left and right buttons but they wont work so take a look at them if you can. When i click a button to load a new movie how do i get it to go to a specific frame on the movie? The actual hot spots wont work as they are loading external movies. Im looking forward to hearing your opinions. Thanks Robert Last edited by robukni; Apr 28th, 2007 at 03:21. |
