Making Flash Movies

This thread has a large scope, so any information is great

Ok. I want to basically know if it's possible to make a flash movie from a flash file (game).

For example, I have game.swf that is played by users and I want to extract a short little preview of this game.

Please shout at me if this makes no sense, even better tell me to be clearer

do you have the .fla? If not you can't edit the file unless you purchase a SoThink program... But not really a way you can make the game play itself... Easiest thing to do would to be to just take screenshots or to recreate the game.

Or! Play the game, and take a video capture...Like with Camtasia....or Hypercam or something.

You could do that.. but usually the quality isn't very good

Nah, the quality of the game when you record is normally very high quialty, at least with Camtasia it is.
