When a button refuses to behave like a button in Flash
I'm trying to create a movie in Flash---and I've set text as a button symbol. However, the 'link' I set to the button is acting strangely and I don't know what's wrong:
It's as if each letter of the text is a link, rather than the entire 'title' being the button. make sense? It's difficult to click on because you have to have our cursor 'just right' to actually hit the link. |

Technically, this is correct as there's only the text in the button. A common workaround is to create a rectangle around the text which you use as your hotspot area. Either place it in the 'hit' frame or place it in the same frame as your text but convert it to a graphic and set it's alpha to 0%.
