Hi guys,

I have an exam in about 4 hours, so I'll respond to this later! The answer will take a little while as it's not a simple solution!

Ok, here's something you can work from:
http://www.flashkit.com/movies/Inter...0469/index.php

There's a huge list of menus here too:
http://www.flashkit.com/movies/Interfaces/Menus/

I encourage you to look at those, download them, check out the source code and learn from it.

The first one could be changed to your needs pretty easily. 'Menu' becomes just one button on your navigation - you change it to rollover and off instead of click and you create a shape in the last frame of a button (that shape activates the button).

Have a play a let me know how you get on. You might encouter a few issues, like how to make the menu stay open while you browse it, etc. You can easily use if statements to do that sort of thing... Alternatively you may find a nice script to do it.

I do warn you though, this type of menu isn't necessarily particularly useful in Flash. If you're making a 100% Flash website, then you can probably think of something more interesting and if you're making an HTML website, then you can't use this sort of menu anyway as the Flash can't 'float' above the HTML...

A Flash drop-down menu of any kind is completly innappropriate for HTML. I suggest you use a DHTML menu.

You can see many different DHTML menus here:
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/

and a windows-style one here:
http://www.brainjar.com/dhtml/menubar/

And similiar menus to the one you started with in Flash:
http://www.dhtmlcentral.com/projects/coolmenus/

Alternatively, you could still do a Flash menu, but it would have to be very different, like the one on this page, at the top:
