Netdogz style "wireframe colourisation"
I remember there was this effect on some site, I think Netdogz, where they had this wireframe thing and they had a building. So what happened was the building's outline appeared, the rest of the building was white or something. Then the building changed from white to coloured from bottom to top or the other way.. How do I do that? ( ps: I wish to do that, but its with a picture of a satellite dish ).. Plz help.

Precisely. Precisio. But with the animation!:wink::wink:
Any idea how I can go about with it? |

You will need to create or get a 3d mesh of a satellite dish and create both a wireframe and normal, tectured image. Then you put them into a program and, using a mask, remove one leaving the other underneath.

"Then you put them into a program and, using a mask, remove one leaving the other underneath."..
So I would have to create the wireframe and place it on top, and then below it, I place a movie clip.. which inside it, can turn from White to the Coloured picture. Is this what you mean by masking? And the wireframe would be imported as GIF with transparency right? So that the layers below can be seen..? Hope u could help. my exams are over. hope so are yours :P |

Well to be 100% honest with you on how I made that image, all I did was take the current picture, then drew the wireframes by hand. It's a bit painful, but it ended up looking very nice I believe. The flag was a bit harder, cause it didn't have those easy ot find meshy looking lines on it. But my friend used the Ugly green guy and used 3DS MAX to do the same thing. (Although his looked much better than mine :wink

Wireframe should be easy since the satellite is rounded, I can use magnetic lasso and select the circle and then shrink it everytime, adding a stroke outside to the fill layer.
But for the flash steps, I'm not so sure... |

The flash will be easy... you can use the Alpha and movieclips to do the fading in and fading out of the image.. and you can use the un-cut image to do tint on it to make it change from a solid color to a picture. And you can use some script to make that effect. lol, easy in theory , not in doing , I know.
