Virtual Tour....

Ok, Sirkent.. this is pretty much yours.. I want to create a hallway with flash and walk down that hallway as the intro. I want to have movies playing in the pictures along the hall. (.swf movies...) So far no problems with that. But what I am having a problem with is creating forward motion... How do I do this? Is there a good way to do this? Looking at some of your designs I have seen this effect before. Can you please tell me how I can do this? Ohh, and I have tried making everything small and expanding and expanding it.. but this just creates a jumping out of the screen type effect. Thanks again!

Ok, I'm a little confused here. Mainly as to where you saw me use this effect? Could you show me please? lol. Because I don't remember doing what you're describing.

There are two ways to do this and one of them I can't do [:P].
You can either do it in a 3d program and use a movie then overlay the swf movies on the walls when you turn and "face" them.
Or you can just make the hallway get bigger and bigger... In which case you'll need to use vectors (definetly) otherwise the image will get blurred.

I wouldn't really suggest doing either because the first is bandwidth intensive and the second is difficult to do properly, dependant on the speed of the viewer's computer and looks a bit 'rigid'.

Oh and I don't get what you mean by a "Jumping out of the screen type effect."

Can you show us what you've done?

The only way to do so is probably to use video... but I don't think I've seen such effects like this!

Ok. All you need is to create a forward motion ( using a video camera ) and then when the visitor presses forward of any such button, what will happen is that the movie clip is triggered and will play and stop after a number of frames. The backward motion of course is essentially the same logic. Use a video camera!

When the user presses the backward button, Actionscript will have to 'rewind', though I don't know how that can be done...

Don't know why you want to create such an effect though! I've never seen such a thing on any website.

lol.... Well the hallway and everything is going to be made up of binary coding... Well look like it is made up of it anyways, so there isn't any REAL video... its all just made up.. I am drawing it on paper first and haven't actually created the flash movie yet.. I can put something together and show yall. I have been working on the forward mothion in Flash for quite some time now and just can't get it to look good. The entire site is going to feature the binary coding with the content on top of it. I will work on getting the design finished.. then I will repost what I have done. Thanks.

lolx! I don't think you know what you're talking about! Binary Coding! Hrmph! Don't you know that binary is either 1 or 0? Its ( if I read that correct ) supposed to be a base-2 digit or something. Our normal numbers are base-10... if youre interested..
Well, if you can do binary coding, I must say that you most certainly are a robot! :P

Binary coding as Kulegamr put it was the wrong term.

I used to work with a developer who did 3D modeling and he used a massive 3D grid and within that each intersection was either on (1) or off (0)... When someone says binary coding, we immediately think 'programming'... I know kulegamr did not mean it in this way, and he more likely meant the senario I have just described.

Nahh... I meant binary coding.. Which clearly means 2 number coding... The fact is I am not using it to program guys.... I am using it as an effect... Ever seen the matrix?? haha. I am creating that kind of effect. Where all objects will be numbers instead of actual objects. I will try and get a sample of the movie drawn up.. Right now its all on paper and I havent done anything on the computer yet. Poor me doesnt have a scanner...

Ohh, and this site is going to be for a friend of mine... He needs a photo gallery to display all his many web graphics...
