Closing a window ( created using start,stopdrag)

Please help! I can't get this working... I've tried zillions of methods and tried very possible solution but it stubbornly refuses to change its alpha to zero using setproperty.

btw, i'm using a rectangle movie now, not an irregularly shaped rounded rect. as before.

Thanks in advance.

I assume you have saved this as MX 2004 - Which I don't currently have. Could you save this is plain old MX please as there really shouldn't be any actionscript missing. I must stress that you cannot expect users to upgrade their version of flash for you. If your site does not take advantage of a new version of flash then don't use it, use an older version.

Ok, firstly, you have your onpress and onrelease actions on the whole movieclip - Those override the button within that movieclip that is meant to make the window disappear.

Secondly, the button which makes the movie dissappear, is a movieclip, not a button. So the actions aren't working on it. Change that and it works, no problem!

Is it possible to get the close button to move when the window does? I believed that embedding the button in the movie clip window is the easiest way, but that doesn't work because press is overwritten...

How do you do it? Did you do math ( appear _y from registration point of window )???

I made it so that the whole symbol was a movieclip, with no drag on it. Inside it, is the button at the bottom to close it and the top part is a button, that is draggable, which drags the whole clip around. You CAN do that - Have a clip drag the clip it is inside of.
