change item pictures like a slideshow
Hi,
I am new to this and was not sure where to post this question. What i am trying to do is make a sort of slide show, a sort of which could be used in a shop. An image of a product would be show, with like 2 arrow pictures either side. Clicking either of these 2 arrow pictures would bring up the next picture of an item. The images of products must be individual items though, as there would be a button underneath so that the currently displayed image could be selected and maybe continue to a checkout page or something. I am not sure if this involves scripts or something, and i dont know how well i have explained my problem, but if you could help in any way it would be much appreciated. The sort of thing i am after is quite common, i just don't know how well i have explained it. Also, i am not sure if this is in the right category, i just guessed it was flash, please move it if i am wrong! Thanks! Last edited by Daniel; Jan 8th, 2007 at 10:29. Re: change item pictures like a slideshow
Well, making the slideshow part of it would be pretty easy and so would the adding it to a checkout cart part. The slide can be done in flash and since I'm not smart in the ways of PHP, you could just link the "Add to cart" button to the page where that item is in the cart. If you want the flash stuff for the slideshow, I'll be glad to help.

Re: change item pictures like a slideshow
Hi,
Thanks for your help. The items would not actually be linked to a check out, but to a script which i could do later on. I am not really too familiar with flash, and another way which was suggested to me was to use iframes, and some how link the images of the arrows to them. Then when an item is selected the user could be taken to a new page featuring the selected item. What do you think would be easiest to do, and most easy to implement? Thanks a lot |
