Disable moovie clips
Hello all,
Does anyone know how you would disable a movie clip, in the same way the you would disable a button. I have a movie clip that performs a function when you click it, but I want to be able to disable this feature when you click a 'disable' button, but still see the movie clip. Any ideas? Thanks, DrGonzo. |

Re: Disable moovie clips
Hi Dan,
Sorry - my explaiation is a bit vague... I have a movie clip that loads images using the new fileRefernce class. Once you have loaded your image, you can click the image (movie clip) and it applies a free transform tool. There are also other movie clips with text in, that sit on top of this clip and have the same free transform feature. What I wanted was a button that turns the feature off (for the text movie clips) when you click it, so that you can click the image movie clip. I couldn't use swapDepths, because the text clips need to be on top of the image clip at all times. I have actualy sorted the problem now, by using
I got this solution from someone on another forum and it's a really useful function that I didn't know existed. For anyone who has similar problems, this function deletes the code placed in the brackets. Thanks again, DrGonzo. |

I've gave the other forums a head start.... otherwise there would have been no competition... I'm sure your answer would have been far superior - more eloquent, exciting, and captivating, not to mention the stunning brilliance. It would have made the tea too..... Oh well, There's always next time.. (thanks anyway for looking man). DrGonzo |
