Flash Buttons

A question about Flash buttons, I made some in Flash but I can't hyper link them, how do you hyperlink homemade flash buttons in Dreamweaver or in Flash? Three buttons are in the same flash document, so how to I give each button a different hyperlink?

select the instance of the button and open the actions editor (F9) and i think its

on (release) {
getURL("yoursite");
}

try that and test it.

i know that explorer would let me use that bit localy but tested from a server i had no problems.

I think your computer is messed up man, because I can test flash movies like that locally, you just have to tell internet explorer it is ok...or you could cheat and just open the swf file, or open firefox!!

I don't really understand what you're saying, I just want to hyperlink a flash button in dreamweaver or flash, how do I dot that?

Looks like PixelLuv already told you how to make a hyperlink within flash. What else is the problem?

I press F9 and get the window, but how do I go on (release)? EDIT:
Never mind, did It but I get this error:
**Error** Symbol=Square, layer=Layer 1, frame=1:Line 1: Mouse events are permitted only for button instances
on(release)

Total ActionScript Errors: 1 Reported Errors: 1

Another EDIT: Figured out what it means, I was selecting the Movie Clip instead of the button, but the button says "Current selection can not have applications applied to it.

sounds like you have not made the thing you want in your design to be a button symbol in flash. check and see what kind of symbol you are working with.

not to insult, but perhaps the basic tutorials in flash would help. this is all super basic. running through those or googling is much faster than trying to learn via forum.

Either you have not made it a symbol, or you are applying the action script to the layer, as I said above we can only guess what you are doing wrong. If you post the Fla up here we can fix the problem, and repost it for you to see, that way you know what to do for future reference.
