Ok, Your site certainly isn't bad. There's alot of good flash here, some advanced actionscript and animation and some fairly nice graphics. It's certainly a good achievement...

But it's all been done before. The blue is a bit overbearing and doesn't show much scope in your design work. Some of your text is a little difficult to see against the oh-so-frequently used gradient background of your content. Not only is this site nothing new, it's based on some fairly old sites. The old theory 7 site (http://www.theory7.com/) for example. For a team of people you could have done so much better!

Why make it so that the windows can be closed and dragged about? It doesn't add anything because all your content is in one window. (And before you go attacking my site I offer it as nothing new - it is 18 months old - and certainly nothing groundbreaking, especially now).

The site of the week should be something special. Something new. It doens't have to have the best design on the face of the planet or bags of programming - It just needs some fresh ideas and originality and just enough skill to carry it off.

Sorry to be harsh, but I am....harsh, lol.

You have good skills - A HUGE amount of potential. Go back to the drawing board with your team and brainstorm. Think of something new - because you have the skill to carry it off and you know it.

Meanwhile, please don't be offended by what I say. You're skilled - right up there on this forum and we need people like you to help us grow. Not that I'm desperate or anything

Hell, I could be proved (and probably voted) wrong. I have been before!

Hi Hyraf!!

Welcome to the forums. I have to say that I do really love your site, but at the same time agree with SirKent in the fact that it is nothing new!

It's a worthwhile addition to this forum though, although I feel it wouyld have been better posted to the Website Critique forum for improvement ideas and maybe some inspiration from other members.

All the best with the site, and good luck in the vote!

Nothing more or less spectacular then everything else in this forum. The menus draggable and closeable don't make any sense to me, as like Sirkent said, the content is all in one...not a lot of content to need to organize or move.

Get some more music loops.

Keep up the great work. Everything improves with age.

Ok, when it comes to web design I am the harshest of all the people here, just read my posts. I dont like a lot of things, one thing I can't stand is frames or draggable content on a site, it is like putting a big sign up saying, MY DESIGN SUCKS!!!!! Want to know why? cause you are telling the user to move things around on the site cause you aren't capable of putting them anywhere. Well, thats what I think about that kind of stuff. As for the scripting, very nice job. I have to admit, can't do it. But please get rid of the draggable boxes, that just makes your site go from Nice, to words I dont speak in public. Nice try guys, but be more original. Having the newest thing isn't what it takes nowadays, talk to the people that will be coming to your site, don't give them something they dont want, and believe me, that is not what people want. Also, do something that will make them show their friends, and them their frinds, and so you end up with tons of visitors. As for myself, I suck at desiging, but when I am telling someone what to do I usually have awesome results. I don't know why I can't do it myself, guess cause I am too lazy. Ohh well, well keep trying. By the way, if you read this whole thing I am sorry for you, your eyes must really hurt, I apologize for this, but I wanted to let you know how I truly felt. Talk to you later. Bye.

Ohh yeah, Welcome to the Forums!!!

Jeez, go easy forum members, it's the guys first post.

Thanks for you input Hyraf (yes I am creeping). I semi like your site/design; the way you can change the background colours, and the way everything moves in, it does have a gentle feel. However, I do think that the 'drag' function sucks, it's a feature that is of no use and becomes a bore which has also been done a million times over. Dump the 'close' option, why anyone would want to do that beats me. If they are closing the window they may as well leave the site, because that is what it is saying. I also think the 'content' window should make full use of the space around it, this will have more of a dominating effect in where you should really be looking.

I must agree that the site don't boast anything new, just a semi good design. I am afraid it is not a voter for me, but a very nice try.

I strongly disagree with the criticism this site has received, although the design has already used b4 in numerous website and may be quite uncreative.

The positive points...
(1) uniform colour ( blue ) would make the site feel clean
(2) The unclutterred interface although the 'content window' is quite small.
(3) No distracting/confusing animation'
(4) quick loading time ( on my T1 though i dunno wat happens on a 14.4! )

The negative...
(1) The animation may not impress.. ( for those animation minded ppl who simply cannot resist animation lolx )
(2) No non-flash version
(3) The drag serves no purpose; you may want 2 remove it or make it so that it exists for some reason. maybe support for multiple windows?
(4) Small font.. given that the information inside is quite less, perhaps you may want to use a bigger font?
(5) May not be very appealing to big corporations???
